Ingredients for brisket:

1 lb of brisket

Salt

Pepper

Olive oil

Directions:

Place the brisket in a large pot. Add water to cover the brisket. Then bring the water to a boil and cook for 4 hours. Make sure that you check the brisket every 30 minutes to check the water level. If you don’t have a large pot then you can also use a pressure cooker.

After 4 hours of cooking time, remove the brisket from the pot and let it cool completely. You can slice it now or keep it whole.

Now, add 1 tablespoon olive oil to a pan or skillet. Then place the brisket in the pan and fry it until it gets browned.

Remove the brisket from the pan and place it in a baking tray. You can brush some butter or olive oil on it.

Then place the pan back on the heat and add another 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Add 2 cloves of minced garlic. Fry them for 10 seconds, then add 1 tablespoon of chili flakes.

Cook for 5 more minutes and then add the sliced onions. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Then cover the pan with the lid and let the onions cook for 5 minutes. Then remove the lid and add the tomato puree and chopped bell peppers. Cook for another 5 minutes and then remove from heat.

Now, add the sliced tomatoes and mix well. Return the pan to heat and let it cook for 10 more minutes.

Finally, pour the sauce on the brisket and sprinkle some black pepper. Add 1 tablespoon of dried oregano and 1 tablespoon of parsley. Let it cook for 5 more minutes.

Serve it hot.
